Fighting Fire

Last month, Sky Guardian held their first Flight School training session with the Wildland Fire Department at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport. The firefighters initiated a controlled burn at segregated area of the airport grounds. Their goal was to clear invasive species and unmaintained sections of the airport’s dead grassy areas. Our goal was to demonstrate the potential public safety applications of our unmanned multi-rotor AD1 aircraft, integrating ground station operations with the aerial cameras.

In the heat of a wildfire battle, firefighters are often hand-holding high tech thermal cameras to help them visual plan of attack, locating hot spots efficiently. Our AD1 and AD2 aerial systems can now integrate the same thermal technology onto our anti-vibration 2-directional gimbals. Designed for professional use, FLIR Vue Pro is more than a thermal camera, it is a thermal measurement instrument and data recorder that adds tremendous value to your sUAS operations and services.
