ENABLING DRONE DEVELOPMENT IN SAN DIEGO

The San Diego Industrial Drone Consortium was formed to collaborate with like-minded drone companies in San Diego. In August 2017, Action Drone noticed that similar and fellow colleague drone companies were also bidding the same RFPs, but asking Action Drone to cover elements where they couldn’t and vice versa with Action Drone. So enter the drone group’s monthly meetings and later formally forming to the group SDIDC, and now managed by the South County Economic Development Council.

To goal of the SDIDC is “To foster growth of the San Diego drone industry by leveraging collective resources, experience and capabilities to pursue defense and commercial opportunities, develop cross-industry partnerships in an effort to increase resiliency among drone companies, cultivate a highly qualified workforce, promote the development of drone technology, advocate for the development of UAS test sites and infrastructure, and support the integration of drones in the National Airspace System (NAS).”
